People see and hear things differently. A teacher once conducted an experiment with her 5th grade class. She offered them the First half of some popular proverbs like so:
1. Strike while the….
2. It’s always darkest before…
3. Children should be seen and not …
4. Better late than …
If you think you know the endings, try out these 5th grade responses:
1. … bug is close.
2. … daylight saving’s time.
3. …spanked or grounded.
4. … pregnant.
It is obvious these children had their own unique perspective on these familiar proverbs. Just like with these proverbs people have differing perspectives about the Savior. There is certainly more than one way people understand Him. By the power of the Holy Spirit you can believe that Jesus is God’s Son, your Divine Substitue who has conquered sin and Satan so you can have salvation.
But there are other thoughts about Jesus as well. Some even think that Jesus was a lunatic, liar, fake, or fraud. We as Christians hold tightly to the picture God’s Holy Word, the Bible, has painted. He really is the only way and that is the best news ever!
The Disciples of old recognized that it was ridiculous to reduce Jesus to simply a great Philosopher or Teacher. But instead it is as Jesus Himself said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. John 14:6 According to mankind’s perspective there are many ways to see Jesus. According to God’s point of view there is only one: He is the Resurrection and the Life! If we see Him this way it will be true that we will never die. John 11:26.

KEEP THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE! GOD’S!
