As you look around, you might notice that almost everyone seems to have a cell phone. People are talking to someone most of the time; or at least they are trying to contact someone and others are trying to contact them. You can hear cell phones ringing or singing tunes; they fill our ears and our lives. In 2002, 62% of the adult population in the U.S. owned a cell phone. Couldn’t find statistics about kids that owned them; but pretty certain that the numbers have grown a great deal by now. People are almost in constant communication with someone every day. It’s amazing! But with all of this talking going on around the clock, around the globe; do you ever find yourself wondering if people are spending as much time and energy talking to God?

Technology is great for sure, but so limited, compared to the Creator and Designer of the universe. With God, conversation is free. There are definitely no dead zones, none whatsoever. He does not need to advertise; rest assured His plan is better than any humans have to offer.

No one wants your conversation more or is more interested in talking with you than the Lord. He doesn’t screen your calls; you won’t get an answering machine message or a busy signal. He doesn’t have call waiting, because He can’t wait to hear from you! You’re first on His contact list! Where is God on yours? Is He on your contact list at all?

Think about it for a moment. Who is more important for you to be talking to than the Almighty God? He’s got an app for everything! Need to know what direction to go in for your life--- there’s an app for that. Need to know where to get spiritual food--- there’s an app for that. Need to know that you are forgiven and loved--- there’s an app for that. God has it all! If you are reading this and you haven’t talked to your Creator recently; put your cell phone away, find a quiet place and start talking. Talk to Him about how you’ve been, about the things that are good in your life and the things that need fixing. Talk to Him about your deepest needs and desires. God really cares about your needs and desires! He does! He values you more than any one else ever could. Listen to what John, one of His Disciples, said, long before there were cell phones:

FOR GOD SO LOVED (put your name here) THAT HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE! John 3:16.

Let the next call you take or make be to the one who loves you with His Life!
