June
Everyone who’s ever learned to ride a bicycle realizes, sooner or later, that the key to mastering riding it is to keep moving forward. It is when you cease to go forward that the bike falters, you fall and injury often occurs.
This is also true about our walk as Christians. We must never be satisfied where we are at spiritually as though we have reached the highest level or achieved the place where God wants us to be. We need to be continually growing, striving and moving forward. There is a song with these words: More Love, more power, more of You in my life. We don’t need less prayer, less time with the Lord, less Bible studying, less Church attendance, less service to our fellow man, less giving, less witnessing; we don’t need less, we need more. We have to keep moving forward in our spiritual life. If we slow down in it or stop, we will fall. In this month of June many people will be learning how to ride a bike. You may see them struggling; but they will master it if they learn to keep moving forward. You and I too, must keep moving forward in our walk of faith. Think this summer what has to be done personally and in our congregational life to keep moving forward. We need to be willing to do whatever is necessary to keep the wheels turning and our lives and church growing. The Lord bless you this summer. Enjoy the ride, grow in Christ, and keep moving forward.
