March
Lent is a perfect time to ponder about forgiveness; not only that we are totally forgiven of all our sins by our Savior Jesus Christ, but also because we have so many opportunities to forgive others. Winter brings snow. Some snowfalls are light and beautiful; others are blizzards with 50 to 60 mile per hour winds which cripple travel and create a difficult time for cleaning up. The clean up happens for sure with massive snow removal equipment and eventually people can travel to the store for supplies and children, much to their dismay, can return to school. Resentments are like snowdrifts and forgiveness is like a snowplow.
For many, forgiveness is simply a matter of a passive release from responsibility. But for the Christian, forgiveness is a snowplow—opening up the road, removing barriers, permitting communication to be restored. There are much resentment can build up in our lives in the course of a day. The only way to put joy on our faces and in our hearts is to realize that only an overwhelming love can remove resentments and fill us with FORGIVNESS.
So reflect on these words, I forgive you. This is the language of God’s love. I Corinthians 13: 5 says, Love does not keep a record of wrongs. If we are trying to love as Christians; how can we continue to keep a record of wrongs done to us. Let us pray that the Lord will help us to truly forgive even as He has forgiven us! Blessings for the Lenten season and we look forward to a glorious resurrection in our lives.
