Pastor's Place

November

There is an expression that people often use, it is, thanks for nothin’ !

That of course is an expression of a discouraged person, a person who has become negative, cynical, and maybe even bitter. However, For the person who knows Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; this expression would more likely be heard, thanks for everything!

When you have come out of the kingdom of darkness and have walked into his marvellous light; you begin to see the world around you with new eyes. Things that were invisible to you before, that you were blind to, suddenly come into sharp focus! before you came to know him; you may have used the first expression, as though you had nothing to be thankful for. When jesus becomes your king, you realize that you have so much to be thankful about.

Hugely important things, things out of this world, like Everlasting life with the God who created this universe and yet wants to spend time with you (Psalm 8: 3,4); that all of you sins have been cleansed and that the Judge has declared you not guilty because of christ Jesus(Romans 8:1-2); That you still have time to direct others to the one who can save them (john 9: 3-5; @ Peter 3: 8-9).

And of course the important things in this world, like house and home, family and friends, good health, food, clothing, fresh water to drink; We have these things even in our worst circumstances here in america in such abundance, and the rest of the world longs to have even a small part of what we have. So if you are tempted to join the ones who say, Thanks for nothin’. Raise your eyes to heaven to the Lord who gave up all to give all to us and say instead, THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!!

Peace and Joy unspeakable be yours! Blessed Thanksgiving!
